Remember, Remember The Fifth Of November
October 21st, 2007You may recognize the title of this rant from the recent move V for Vendetta but it actually dates back to the 1600s and a man named Guy Fawkes. Mr Fawkes had had enough of the English government and along with a few conspirators attempted to place several barrels of gunpowder in the basement of parliament. He was caught, tried and then was hung, drawn and quartered. The poem was written for one of the many Gunpowder Plot Sermons delivered each year on the anniversary of the plot so ‘no one would forget that treason will not be forgotten’.
Well we now have treason at the highest levels, from the White House to the halls of Congress our life, liberties and pursuit of happiness are being sold off to the highest corporate bidder. Should we forget this treason? I say NO and there are a growing number of concerned Americans feeling the same way!
So some history savvy people have brought back this old poem to support another man that is sick and tired of the lies, bullshit and deceit our government has thrust upon us. The supporters of Ron Paul want 100,000 people to donate $100 to the Ron Paul campaign on the 5th of November 2007. If they can pull this off it will be THE largest one day contribution in history and will no doubt gain Mr. Paul a tremendous amount of free press on the news channels.
I will be contributing and I hope any red blooded American patriot will also help out. If you don’t have an extra $100 please donate whatever you can afford. If enough people help out we might actually be able to shake up this piece of garbage we call a government and let them know we are DAMN MAD. Until common Americans shout it from the rooftops YOUR government is going to treat you like a child and steal everything they can from you.
So mark your calendar and on the 5th of November donate what you can at ronpaul2008.com
Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot…
