Education For All ….. EXCEPT
February 15th, 2006As you have probably heard by now the 2006 Bush budget has been approved by a narrow vote along party lines. Once again the Republican regime has bowed to their leader and handed him one of the most lopsided budgets ever passed. This horrific budget has cut more and more plans for the elderly, the poorest of Americans and our children’s education, moving much of these program’s funds over to military spending. Education alone lost $528 million dollars, cutting funding to 48 different education programs! But it’s not bad enough the deficit will sky rocket this year and the wealthiest Americans will be able to keep more of their money while the elderly and poorest suffer but now OUR kids, the students of American have been slapped in the face again.
Today, February 15th this narrow-minded establishment did the unthinkable. NO it wasn’t lying to the American people again, it wasn’t six-gun Cheney shooting a hunting partner, it was the ultimate “Screw YOU” they handed out to OUR children. The mouthpiece of this regime, our old friend Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice actually had the balls to come out and tell us that this establishment now wants $75 million dollars to start (another) propaganda effort against Iran. How does this equate to education you ask? Well part of their plan is to pay Iranians to come to the US and go to school! Quoting CNN, Rice said the funds would be used to broadcast U.S. radio and television programs into Iran and pay for Iranians to study in America. She requested the money in a supplemental budget request for fiscal year 2006….. That’s right folks, our “quest for democracy” has now lead this inept administration to the brilliant idea that our kids don’t need any help with education but we surely can bring foreign students into the country and educate them on our dollar! Who in the HELL came up with this asinine idea!
But why should we worry? The US leads the world in education of our children right? Hardly! According to the latest statistics, among adults age 25 to 34, the U.S. is ninth among industrialized nations in the share of its population that has at least a high school degree. In the same age group, the United States ranks seventh, with Belgium, in the share of people who hold a college degree. (source: CBS News)…. Yes sir we are just kicking ass and taking names there! So I guess the Bush administration feels we are smart enough to get by. Education? We don’t need no stinking education!
Personally I take this as a bitch slap across the face from a government that isn’t out of touch, they are out of their freaking minds! I don’t know who has spiked the punch at the white house with Jack Daniels but someone needs to tell these people to sober up, get their heads out of their asses and start paying attention to the people right here in the US. I don’t know how ANY American, whether they voted for this buffoon or not can honestly say we should spend OUR money to pay for foreign students to come here and get an education while we tell our own kids they are out of luck! How can ANYONE with half a brain justify that!
Personally I’m getting ready to write some very nasty letters to anyone in this government who will listen. This has GOT to be stopped! Unless you can honestly look your children, grandchildren, or any other child in the face and say “I’m sorry Johnny ……. you can’t go to college. That money is helping some poor Iranian child come here and get YOUR education” then I suggest you get off your butt and start screaming!
