Just My Rant

I’ve been warning about the coming economic problems in the US for a few months now, maybe not as much as I should have but then again I’ve been trying to protect my own family against the coming shit storm so maybe I’ve been a little lax in my warnings. You can’t blame me for taking more time than normal to try and save my friends and family though!

So here we are, I’ve been saying for close to 4 months that the federal government would hold off as much bad news as possible until after the Christmas shopping season and by god I was right! The reason they had to hold off all the bad news is that the US economy has been “stroking along” for the past several years based on the retail consumption of US citizens! The latest information shows that 70% of the US economy is based on shopping, not manufacturing, not exports, not anything that would show a healthy economic sensibility! It’s ALL been based on you and I whipping out the old credit card and saying charge it!

And that’s the scary part. Not the shopping, but the fact that the past 4 years of an “overheated” economy and just about all economic growth has been built on debt! It’s not like you and I had this huge savings account and decided to go shopping 4 years ago, far from it! The government TOLD us everything was just ducky and the best thing we could do as good citizens was to go out and buy that new big screen TV on our charge card! It’s OK that you can’t afford it, the amazing increase in the value of your home will cover anything your wildest dreams can desire! So worry not, shop till you drop! Just remember what our “fearless leader” said the day after 9/11 “we have everything under control, go shopping”

You see, you and I, the normal everyday citizens have been suckered into the greatest scheme of all time! We have been lead around by the government and the media for years now all the while being told our real estate value was growing by leaps and bounds and that because of this new found wealth we could afford anything our hearts desired! How could anyone turn down that deal? We had worked so long and so hard for what we had that we felt we DESERVED the rewards we were finally getting. But you know what? It was ALL a lie, a lie set up to rob us of the last ounce of dignity and the last dollars we had.

And now it’s time to “pay the piper”, we were sucked into this mess as willing followers of the system of wealth and greed! Our stocks (I don’t actually own any, thank god) are plunging into the bowels of hell. Our home values are dropping at a rate of 5% per month. Our credit card debt is growing at an astronomical rate and every time we go to the store to buy something it is 5% more expensive than it was the last time we bought it! It seems every day the financial news gets bleaker and bleaker and every day it’s just a little bit harder to make ends meet.

So who’s to blame? Sure we can throw mud at the FED, the US government for lying to us and the big corporations for sucking us dry but when you boil it all down the facts prove the one to blame is YOU and I! We are the ones that threw reason out the window and decided to believe the news that we were now filthy rich on our homes. WE are the ones that refused to take the time to REALLY pay attention to what our government and the banks were doing. WE are the ones that invested trillions of dollars into funds that made no god damn sense to us! Yes when you boil it all down WE the people are the cause of the shit storm we now find ourselves in! Don’t sit there and shake your head like some victim, you know DAMN well we, the idiot, mindless sheep that are called US citizens have allowed themselves to become so influenced by the media and advertising that we have lost all capabilities to function on our own! WE (you and I) are the IDIOT sheep that have allowed the creation of an economic mess that is SO BAD it could very well turn the United States of America into a third world country!

But let’s not beat ourselves up! Aren’t we the generation of victims? Aren’t WE the ones that go on Oprah and Dr. Phil and whine about how WE are the victim and all the ills we have done are caused by the society we grew up in? Yes in fact we are the generation that whines like a 2 year old because WE the people have forgotten how to take care of ourselves! We the people have forgotten that WE are responsible for the lives we create! We the people have forgotten that a perfect government REQUIRES participation BY the people! WE the people have forgotten that “you reap what you sow”. In fact we the people have allowed ourselves to become so complacent that anything that didn’t create ripples in our little pond didn’t seem to matter to us! An NOW we are in the middle of a storm so violent we don’t know what to do, all because we decided years ago that OUR LITTLE WORLD was more important than the “big picture”, we didn’t care about OUR country, OUR economics, OUR status in the world ….. all we cared about was our little world and how many neat new toys we could buy!

So here we sit, on the edge of the chasm. Our government doesn’t care if we live or die, they don’t care if we can feed our families, they don’t care if we are in debt up to our eyeballs, plain and simple they don’t care! WHY? Because OUR government is run by the giant corporations that are owed so many billions of dollars and dammit they want their money! Our government is owned by special interest groups that care about ONE THING, the “bottom dollar” of the companies they represent. Our government is owned by people that are SO FAR above our government that a single snap of their fingers means death to us as country, and those “people” (if you can call them people) want YOU AND I as slaves to their greed!

We have allowed ourselves to be blinded by bullshit, we have fallen for the best “sucker game” ever laid out. We, the people of the US have allowed ourselves to become slaves to the “machine” ….. and now we will pay for it with our lives, our money and maybe our very souls! If you have ONE small fraction of your spine as a human you HAVE to get up and fight! You HAVE to say “fuck you, I will NOT be a slave”, you HAVE to stand up for the principles this once great nation was founded upon, that ALL men are created equal, that corporations will NOT enslave us, that no matter what WE THE PEOPLE will fight to the death to make sure our future is secure, whether it means dying for that freedom or not! Stand UP, be counted, and tell the powers that be that WE THE PEOPLE will not stand for this one second longer!
